Tri-County Electric Cooperative was challenged with an aging, multi-building facility located in the center of the city of Lancaster. CBS constructed a new 29,925 sq. ft. facility on 15 acres, improving access to the facility for the members, as well as the line crews. Operational efficiencies were also improved by centralizing all of the functions of the facility at a single location compared to being previously located in four separate buildings divided by city streets. Meeting the needs of the facility at the best value for the members was a top priority for the electric cooperative. A pre-engineered metal building system was utilized for reducing the initial cost of the building structure while a ground source mechanical system will reduced the operational cost for the life of the building by reducing the energy use for heating and cooling the building.
