CBS is thrilled to announce completion of new and improved headquarter facilities for Surry-Yadkin Electric Membership Corporation (SYEMC) in Dobson, North Carolina. SYEMC was founded in 1940 and currently serves more than 27,000 members in multiple counties throughout Western North Carolina, including Surry, Yadkin, Wilkes, Stokes, and Forsyth.

After completion of a detailed Facility Planning Study, CBS designed and built a new operations office space, warehousing, and a variety of site improvements at SYEMC. The warehouse was not only relocated, but also expanded to provide adequate storage and covered shelter for vehicles and equipment. Overall, the new campus will allow SYEMC to better serve their member-owners.

Throughout the project, CBS closely communicated with SYEMC and coordinated all of the onsite activities, allowing the cooperative to remain fully operational during the construction phase. We are also proud of the project team for their efforts in coordinating a holiday gift drive for the local children’s center. CBS is grateful to have worked with SYEMC on this special project and looks forward to a lasting partnership with the cooperative.
