Two facility improvement projects were recently completed at the headquarter campusĀ atĀ Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE), located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Founded in 1936, MTE is largest electric cooperative in the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) region and the second largest in the United States. After MTE acquired another local utility company, they were in need of a space that would adequately house their additional employees.

The project plan was split into two segments:

  1. A two-story 23,000 square foot Corporate Office addition to MTE’s existing Headquarter Facility
  2. A new two-story 70,000 square foot Operations Center Facility

The Corporate Office addition consists of a member service office space, member lobby, conference rooms, training rooms, and retail drive-through. All construction at the Corporate Office addition was completed with no interruption to MTE’s normal business operations. This required additional coordination of scheduled work hours, limited work hours, noise restrictions, and overall additional awareness of pedestrian safety.

MTE’s new Operations Center includes a new engineering office, training rooms, crew rooms and lockers, metering office, warehouse and truck storage building. With MTE transitioning to electric vehicles for their fleet and utility trucks, 10 fully operational EV charging stations with capacity to install 30 additional spaces.

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with MTE on their cooperative construction project and provide them with facilities that can properly support their growth and unique needs.
