Cooperative Building Solutions provided a comprehensive Facility Planning Study to Magic Valley Electric Cooperative in the Spring of 2022. The study reviewed the current property conditions, utilization, space needs, and operational requirements for all four of MVEC’s offices. It was determined that a centralized Operations Center was needed in order to increase efficiency, provide space for materials and staff, and better prepare for hurricane response.
The CBS team then provided design and construction services for a 22,000 square foot office, 20,440 square foot warehouse, and 8,240 square foot vehicle maintenance shop. The Operations Center centralized the Storm Hardened Dispatch, IT, and call center for MVEC, while also providing additional material storage, linemen space, and vehicle maintenance to the north portions of the MVEC service territory.
